by Maarten Mar 14, '05Dear Fellow Students,
My name is Maarten Streefkerk from Venlo, The Netherlands Europe, and a 33 year old male nurse student. My study is specialized in older people with demental problems. I hope I write it proper, my English is not that good, sorry for that! I NEED YOUR HELP FOLKS!!!! I am searching for a nursing home in Florida where I can go to for 2 weeks in June this year. The idea is to just observate the (male) nurses while they are working, I am not allowed to work in the USA at all, but I want to see the differences and the similarity's of our jobs. It's a part of my study to see elsewhere how (male) nurses are working. Can anybody give me a hint to start with? Are there possibility's for foreighn students in the USA to stay a week or 2? If anyone has some information I would be verry greatfull to hear this!
With all the best from The Netherlands,
Regards,

- Mar 14, '05 by jnetteHello there, Maarten, and welcome to Allnurses !
I cannot advise you, unfortunately, but there is someone here who excells in advising foreign nurses .. I'm sure she'll be along soon.
Wish you the best in your endeavors, and your country is lovely.. I have many fond memories of the visits I had made there.
- Mar 14, '05 by suzanne4My best suggestion is to contact some of the facilities directly. You can do this by e-mail, etc. You would want to be able to be there as a "guest observer." You can use that phrase in your letter.
Hope that this helps...............and this can easily be done........
Please let me know if you need any more assistance, but you can usually reach me easier thru the "International Forum" located further down the page. - Mar 14, '05 by jnetteQuote from suzanne4My best suggestion is to contact some of the facilities directly.
