I'm working full time while taking prereqs. A&P (part 2) is on the plate right now, so I really have no life.

I'm married, and believe me, it helps having a supportive wife!

I also have two teenage kids. They're really great, and I have trouble telling them "I really need to study for a while." They're very understanding (as is the wife), and we've made sure that they see the importance of education.

Study hard, guys; learn all you can.

I'm considering an LPN program this fall and because it's a full time day program, my intention to work full time has been shot in the leg. Class and homework time will take up a significant portion of my day and will be hard to combine this with a full time job. You hope your boss will be accommodating when you tell him that you need to cut back in hours and pray that he won't fire and replace you. Realistically, I'm going to have to either sell my apartment (not that I won't get what I'm asking for it anyway) or move in with a friend so that I can rent it out and, therefore, cut my expenses. I can't think of how else to continue owning property and become a full time student at the same time. I sometimes feel like I have to choose between one or the other. I like the system from the poster in Ireland that gets paid to study. Until we have a system like that here, the rich will continue to get richer and the poor will continue to remain poor because they can't survive and try to have a better life by going to school. Unless you come from a two-income household, have a trust fund or live with your parents, I can't see how plausible studying for a new career and being able to pay your mortgage and bills can be.
