update...

I work under the table as a freelance mason/painter.
It's good for making my own hours and I listen to my class lectures on my iPod while I'm working.

Today I'm going to apply for a job as , yep, a vet tech again...the pay I expect to really be garbage but it keeps the material somewhat fresh.

Well,

My country pays for me to study, i get an allowance 1,400USD/month
But an extra would no hurt as life is not exaclty cheap here, but hey that's a lump sum with which you can theoretically get by with. But then again I need to pass 95% of all courses at the first time..

In Kansas, after your first semester of school you can apply for a Nursing Assistant license. I did this and work in a hospital on weekends. Pay is alright and I get hospital exposure.

Graveyard shift at "a non-profit healthcare informatics organization dedicated to providing services to our members that protect and save lives". From our website.

40 hours a week and homework is not discouraged. They are paying all tuition, fees and supply costs.

I only have to stick around with them after I graduate.

Not a problem.

I've been on unemployment for a while now, but getting student loans will help, and go through CNA training to get a job working in a hospital to help w/tuition reimbursement or assistance. Also, having some plastic on hand for unforeseen emergencies, equity in the house, and a couple IRAs to draw on (as a last ditch effort) helps. You can also apply for scholarships.

I have to give credit to my supportive wife as she is the bread winner while I retool my career. I don't know how I could do it without her support.

Like many of you, I'm a Tech in the ED. I'm able to balance 32 hrs of work each week with my classes (went from 13 to 9 credits) but I'm worried about clinicals when I get into the upper division. All these current students tell me how crazy it is. Now try to add work onto that and I'm not really sure what I'm going to do.

I thank God for my job because its been a goal of mine for about 3 years. I learn so much from the nurses and docs there, and they all love teaching me too. I'm applying to the program in July for admission next spring. I'll finish up my pre-reqs over the summer and this Fall. I just hope my GPA is good enough to get in!

Keep up the good work fellas!

I am starting my pre-reqs in the fall and am currently working at CVS doing front end retail FT and management is willing to work with my school schedule bad thing is that I bought a car when I was still a state employee so although i can get FAFSA to pay for my tuition and such I still have to work to pay for my car so yea, it gets rough at times
