Add one more to the group. I will be starting on the 25th. I have wanted to do this for the past 2.5 years and the only thing that has changed is that I am older. Good luck to everyone.

I'm a male ADN student also. I will be starting my 4th semester this week, after a tough summer schedule. I actually starting coming here with many questions before I started ADN school last year, and have met some nice, helpful people. I don't have much time to post here, but I do stop by and check on the other students at times. Let me know if I can be of help to you "new" guys and girls. I have been a construction worker for over twenty years, and decided to go back to school a few years ago. Now, I have completed 3 of 5 semesters of ADN schooling, and hopefully by this time next year, I will be a RN. Take care guys...and girls...

Yes, it is a lot better than having to deal with cold, wet weather at times, and the job security is great. We had representatives from area hospitals trying to recruit our students when we first started school last year! It feels great to be in such demand. The course load has been great at times, especially on us older students , but it's not too bad. I will keep a check on you guys, and monitor your progress. It has been a blessing to see some of the first people I talked to here, still here a year later. One lady that comes to mind is "Love a Nurse", and she is a real sweetheart of a person. There are a lot of good people, and many resourses and internet links shared by the nice people here. Thanks again everyone, for all your continued help. Be cool "guys"...Darby

Actually, I made that transition 10 years ago. I was working for Compaq before I became a Vet Tech.

Default Marching in to no man's land
While trying to make ends meet while I do my preq's, I will be starting my first day as a nursing assistant in the OR tomorrow morning This will actually be the start of my professional nursing career! I don't know how many other guys are already there, but I am sure it will be dominated by the ladies.

While there is a big part of me thinking it will be great fun, I am sure that reality will come and slap me on the face ( I hope not literally I am glad to know where I can come to vent when the time comes.
