Cherokee Rockers "Michael"

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the site as of today but have really enjoyed looking around and posting so far. I just wanted to pass along a little bit about the shoes I picked up today. I know there's not alot of info out there about men's nursing shoes, so maybe this will help someone.

I had been wearing NB's as a CNA which were ok. They fit me realy good (I have wide feet) and were light, but lacked in the cushioning/comfort department. The were also very slippery. I ended up on disability when I tore my L5 as a result of a slip wearing those shoes. For school I needed to get white shoes, nothing backless, no vents, yada-yada you know the shpeel. So I looked around a lot and found the Cherokee Rocker Michael, it's the only men's shoe Cherokee makes. I went ahead and ordered a pair from our local nursing store and they are really nice so far. They come in regular and wide widths, are very light, very comfortable, and the sole/insoles have a lot of spring to them. They are a full soul slip on and provide a good amount of room for your feet when they swell.

Anyway, hopefully this helps. Hit me up with any questions you if you need. I'll post more info when I have a little more clinical time in them.

Default Re: Cherokee Rockers "Michael"
I started wearing my Cherokee Michael shoes a couple weeks ago. These replaced my old white leather Rockport "sneaker" shoes I wore through nursing school clinicals.

Depending on show styling, I wear a size 11 or 12. The first pair of Michaels I got from Shoebuy were size 12. TOO BIG! My heels would slip out the back of the shoes with each step.

I used Shoebuy's free return shipping & exchanged them for a pair in size 11. Much better! The right shoe still tends to let loose from my right heel when walking, but I'm hoping this will change as the shoes get more broken in.

They are comfortable, and my feet no longer hurt after a 12-14 hour shift. The white surface on the shoes is also a bit questionable. After 2 weeks of use, I'm seeing cracks where the front of the shoes flex over my toes while walking. I've never seen this happen with any other shoes.

Yes, they're cheaper than Danskos, but I wonder how these will hold up to long term use. Time will tell!

A lot of people at work wear Nike Shox - those may be my next shoe if the Michaels end up puking.
