i couldnt give a **** to be honest. If I wanna be a male nurse thats a pretty respectful career for me. I havent got any real criticism about it, people give me more applaud than anything.

i started Nursing school when i was 17 and graduated BSN at 21. I am 22 now.

i started working on my prereqs at 17. now i'm 18 and will get into a BSN-RN program by next year, lasting for 2 years.

I'm 29. I just finished my CNA program. There were 5 other men in my class of 40. I will be doing an accelerated BSN starting Sep 2010 (I'll be 30). I will be 32 when I graduate. My wife is finishing the accelerated BSN this August and there were six guys in her class of 60. One guy was 22 the rest were late 20's/early 30's. Since it was an accelerated program alot of the students were late 20's early 30's with a few forty somethings.

Sophomore in BSN program, and I am 19, if I get out on time I will be 22 with my RN-BSN.

29 with 1 semester to go in the ADN program. We had 9 guys to start out 1st semester, but only myself and 1 other is left. We had 50 students (male/female) to start the program and out of the original 50, only 9 is left.

Wow! 41 people failed/dropped out. That seems like awfully high.

I thought so too, especially for an ADN program. I would have guessed those stats would be for an accelerated BSN program, but even then I would not think they'd be that high.

I just graduated at 26. Six men in my class of sixty students, age range from 23 to 37.

FYI there are more men in nursing education today then there are in the workforce. In California the current male enrollment in nursing programs is 18%. Pretty high!
