I completely agree. I already have a B.A. that I got a year ago when I was 22, but I didn't have many of the prereqs necessary for nursing school because my degree was more on the liberal arts side. I'll probably be 24 when I matriculate and will most likely do a 2 year route, as opposed to an accelerated program, so I will be 26 when I graduate.
From 22 to 26...I really do think it's a 4 year process for most people nowadays. The thing that makes it the hardest is that most don't want to "put all their eggs in one basket" and apply to one school, so applying to more than one school makes it even longer because each school seems to always have that one class that you have not taken. I wish there was a way to standardize prerequisites.
