New grad pay rates depend on city and job
I found in my research that new nursing grad pay rates depend completely on location of the job and type of job. For example, new grad RN in Hawaii pays about $5 to $10 more per hour than elsewhere, but then their cost of living is high, too.
By the way, research shows that while new grads with Bachelors of Science degrees are "preferred," they actually hire at the same salary across the nation as RN's from diploma programs. (Both took and passed the same NCLEX!) However, the BSN nurses may have more upward mobility (in title or pay) or in-depth nursing knowledge, as they tend to get more clinical hours and more research classes in their extensive curricula.
Best wishes in your searching!
