What is your facility doing for nurses day and nursing assistants day?

I am looking for creative ideas for both nurses day and nursing assistants day. I would like to honor all of my staff (both nurses and nurse aides), but nurses day and nursing assistants day are not together. Any ideas??

Good for you that you are making this effort. The truth is any show of appreciation is appropriate, in the past I organized a movie night and the facility (who is stretched financially- apparently a chronic condition.) did me a favor to pitch in with popcorn and soda while I brought the movie and we gave a toast to thank each and every nurse and CNA.

Each year, we have a joint meal for both (the entire nsg dept), which we hold in June. myswelf and my managment team go shopping and buy all the fixings for a taco bar, along with salads, fruit, desserts and drinks. we also get gifts forall the staff and/or have money drawings. We run the party from 10:30 - 2:30 and all have fun.

We actually have been given a budget from corporate this year.

Nurses' Week- Day one Massage Chair...15 minutes for each nurse

Day two...facials, manicures, and pedicures given by the DNS, ADNS, SDC, and Supervisor

Day Three talent show

Day four- presents for all

Day five- a luncheon...

The staff is excited about it ...then Nursing Home Week...then CNA week in June....we might be partied out!

We intend to keep to the schedule even if the dreaded DPH comes in the building.

Good for you CCM.. I love the staff, but I ain't gonna be rubbing their feet :)
