Weekend Rate & Cancellation Question

I have been working in LTC for about a month now; it is my first position since getting my lic to practice.... I work on nights with a special weekend rate Sat/Sun. the position is parttime with the opportunity to pick up xtra shifts... I usally pick up fri night. Anyway, I was cancelled last night while in route to this facility... The Nursing sup called 15 min after the recommend time frame telling me your cancelled for the night. ok.. mind you I am on the bus... I turned around & came home. Will this affect my weekend rate since they cancelled me.:eek:

I should have been aware of this because the Supervisor from the previous shift indicated that another nurse from days was coming in on Sun; and stated that the nurse is probably doing a special assign... Nothing was stated about cancelling me... its so crazy because the Supervisor stated that this particular nurse would not work night shift. go figure... I just wanted some feedback on this matter... I have a feeling that my rate will be messed up because of this? Thanks everyone in advance....;)

I used to work weekends only and someone often was sent home early. This never affected my weekend pay (Baylor) because it was required by the facility, not my request.

I will definitely inquire about this before the pay ends because it wasn't my fault... they cancelled me... I just have a feeling that they will see it some other way... I could be wrong, but I will indeed ask about this situation. Thank you for your response... If anyone else have any suggestions, please add them... I do appreciate it :)
