  1. 0 I am a RN that has been working as a RN case manager in home health. I am starting a assistant director of resident services my clinical manager has suggested a management seminar. Wondering if anyone has taken one.

Haven't taken a seminar, per se, but I do find reading management books/articles/websites to be helpful.

If it were me, I'd talk to your clinical manager to see if there is a program that s/he recommmends, or if there are specific areas that she sees that you could strengthen.

Honestly you can't learn to be a manager by taking a seminar. I was in management for close to 10 years before I ever went to a class. I emulated the managers I had whom I admired, and consciously did NOT act like the rotten ones I worked with. There are classes out there, but,as with most things, you have to choose wisely so as not to waste your time and money.
