Nursing Students LPN-RN

I am an LPN that completed an lpn-rn bridge program last DEC. Needless to sayI did not make it. I was one of those nurses that could not quit my job and just focus on school full time. Now I am an over edcuated LPN that can not go back into a nursing program and I have a over whelming student loan that is now due. I also payed money and enrolled in EC.

Then this past week I received a letter telling that GA. will no longer issue a Ga. license to EC grads. Is there any hope?:bluecry1:

I'm so sorry for what you're going through! It sounds like you are an LPN-you passed the NCLEX? I would do some serious looking into of the law. You have a lot of education completed. Depending upon why you didn't pass should determine whether you could get into another nursing program. Good luck, and don't give up.

I certainly would not give up. If your goal is to have your RN then re-apply somewhere else and continue to pursue your goal... and if nothing else you know now what not to do, and hopefully you will not repeat the mistake twice.

How many times have you taken the NClex? Did you not pass the NClex or not pass nursing school??? Where I attend, if you don't pass a portion of the program, you have the option of going back and finishing just that portion that you failed. I certainly would not give up.

I totally agree with Spider, if you failed one of the transition classes, you should be allowed to repeat it. Depending on the school you might have to fill in a request for re-admission( should not be a big deal). If they won't let you, then what about a online progam such as the college network? Whatever you do, do not give up. I am starting transition med surg in august after I failed it, and I'm not looking back. Sometimes things do happen for a better reason and you might just need to refocus and regroup, but never give up. Hang in there and rock on!

When i took a review course, in my class was nothing but RNs that couldnt pass, some even for the third time. Dont give up if being a nurse is what you want to do!!

Never give up hope. I too was in a bridge class and could not get the time off from work, I had to drop out. Now I'm enrolled in EC and in time I will realize my desired to obtain my RN. Be creative and steadfast.

Thanks to everyone who has responded to my cry. I haven't had any luck in finding an on line class that will work for me.I live in Ga. The boards will no longer acredit Excelsior college grads. I can't afford to go back in a class room full time. Why can't I just be happy being an LPN. I don't know what to do ,or who to appeal to for help. because I failed out of nursing school by one point I must pay the price of being known as a failure. I wish there ws another criteria that nursing school had. Not everyone who dose not make 80's on test is dumb.

OK First off that sucks and Im sorry. Many people underestimate the stress of nursing school while working. Its just too much for some. If you could work as much as possible, save the extra money, and go back to school with your hours cut back that would probably help your situation a great deal. Perhaps working a weekend program or nights so that you can study. Just think about it and work hard. You can do this.

I agree you may have to just save $$ first then try again. Did your LPN program require an 80 also?
