Re: LPN TO RN
I also currently live in GA, be sure to check with the GA LPN BON, they have different rules for LPN's and refreshers. I'm also trying to re-enter after being out for a while, I just completed my CE's for reactivation of my Ohio license and even though I will have a valid license from OH, GA will not accept any in state or out of state refresher, they have told me I must re-take the whole LPN program over because I've been out for more than 10 years.
You have to prove you have 500 hours of current work in the state you are licensed in. So anyway be sure to check with the GA LPN BON, they might not be willing to give you a temp license to do you clinicals down here you might have to do them in NJ to get licensed in GA.
I'd appreciate it if you will let me know what they say. I'm in the process of formulating a letter to the GA Governor (he appoints the BON members) about the discriminatory practices with the 2 BON's in GA. RN's no matter how long they've been out of nursing or how little or how much experience they had when in practice are allowed to take a refresher while LPN's are not (no offence to RN's btw).
I wish you luck in your endevor.
