  1. 0 Hi,
I live in Texas. I recently moved to oklahoma. I work as a LPN in midwest city, Oklahoma. I am looking for a LPN-RN bridge fast track program. I heard a lot of negative things about platt college. Does anybody knows anyother school that do fast track. Wht about ITT?....any advice

OU (University of Oklahoma) offers an LPN-to-BSN program.

Thanks for the fast reply. I was wandering, if I apply to OU, do I have to retake my prerequisites again because I took all of them back in 2002-2004?

I do not know about all of OU's requirements on prerequisite courses.

I know that Platt's only prerequisite is an Oklahoma LPN license. Although I attended their nursing program and now have an RN license, it is true that their Oklahoma City campus has had low NCLEX first-time pass rates for the past three to four years.

I don't have a problem going to Platt even though it's not accredited and also heard lot of negative things. But, I was just wandering if it was going to be a problem If I was moving out to a different state. Can my license endorsed to a different state? My husbands job relocates a lot.

I endorsed my license into Texas with no problems, and I plan to endorse into California later this summer. In addition, my classmate was able to obtain initial licensure in Illinois after having attended Platt.

Hello Aish84, I cannot offer any specific feedback on Platt but I can provide this list of CCNE accredited LPN to RN programs in Oklahoma to help you find potential schools to attend.

Thanks for the replies.. May be I stick with Platt I know the opportunities are limited but no waiting list, no prerequisites required just need a valid oklahoma lpn license.. its gonna be little more expensive...Do u know how much is gonna be for the RN program? Do they offer financial aid or loan?

Unfortunately, I don't think that the Oklahoma City campus is admitting students at the present time. Their Tulsa campus is accepting new students. They do offer government financial aid and loans.

When I checked out Tulsa campus, it is really far away from my place almost 2 hour drive but Moore campus and Oklahoma campus is near from where I live.

The Moore campus does not offer an RN program, unless they've added it within the past year. The only two campuses that offer an RN program are Tulsa and north Oklahoma City, and the one in north Oklahoma City is not actively accepting new students into its nursing program at the present time.

I called the north central oklahoma campus today they are accepting students for June they told me I need to take a entrance exam after that I have to meet with their DON for an interview . The price range for the program it will be around 26- 29000 and also they said they do offer financial aid. So I dont know I will see I may go visit the campus next week for futher information.

I would not recommend going to platt. I got my lpn through them. It was a painful and expensive experience. Also, I have heard the rn program is very expensive. I paid 28,000 just for my lpn. Another downfall is if u ever want to get ur bsn you will have to go through them for that too bc ur classes don't transfer. Just some friendly advice. =) hope u find a school that will work for u. Good luck.
