Any one in this program? I am looking it to it as it is the cheapest option I have found... Seems a lot like excelsior with the exception on clinicals (how do they do them?)????

I start Lamar St. on 9/17. Good news is that my hospital has approved 3 1000$ schlorships for me. Thats only half the cost of the program and it is really arranged as tuition re-imbursement but I am truly thankful. Concerned about the time management for the next 15 months but I do have much computer time while at my job and a half. Good luck all...

It is great to know that this online program is doable. I would be interested in the chapters you studied in 2535. I know this is a 8wk course how many tests did you have? Do you have any studying suggestions for 2514? Thanks for all the information and help. God Bless

That is great! What class do you start with? Do you start with a computer class? Is your family ready to help with house hold duties to allow you to study? Money is one thing you need but being able to have the time to do what is required is very important. Good luck

Hello all. Chatted with Lamar State this AM. They tell me I am accepted to Sept bridge program. I said can't be so, I've never applied. They assure me I applied in October. Well I did send some records in October and updated some transcripts recently. I never did send my work history or two other pages of info. Really didn't want to go until January but I guess I better get my act together soon. Supposed to get my acceptance letter mid to late August. Guess I better start renting books tonight? They did accept my Pathophysiology class so that will lighten my load. Guess I'll try to syllabus' online. If I can't find I'll be asking for help. I like start early when possible!

Great idea to start studying now. This program can be overwhelming. Good luck and God Bless.

I start with the computer class. Need to look at renting the books this weekend. I have been told that Lamar will accept my Pathophysiology, transfer credit. Hope that part was accurate? I have jobs such that I can study some at work so I can still be quite domesticated at home.

That last post was a reply to Tx Grandmaw. Sorry...

Katana, can you tell me how were you able to conquer those questions and what technique did you use. I am so happy for you that you had made it so far. If I can just tackle those questions I will be ok.

Thanks

Hello to all. I too have been accepted to the September class. My employer is aware that I have been accepted and has agreed to allow me to do my clinicals however, I am uncertain as to how I actually get things set-up . Any info will be greatly appreciated!!!

cowgirl,

It is my understanding that Lamar will make contact with our educators in March or April. Plenty of time since our clinicals are mid summer? Hope they allow clinicals with an ER patient as some days we don't have inpatients that time of year? We are already enrolled in the computer class. Just up to us to pre pay the class and obtain books. Until 9/17 I'll just sit here in the ER and watch youtube videos such as abg's, breath sounds, ekg's, review for the assessment class. Good luck to you.

I enjoyed this class. I learned a lot but it is very time consuming.
