I hope you all who got excepted will enjoy it and get ready for reading, reading, reading, and more reading?! I'm not in SD but I'm pretty sure all Kaplans are the same.

Hi! I am also applying to Kaplan LVN-RN program for the sep class. I just recently passed the wonderlic exam and now preparing for the KTP. I know it only test for Math and Reading but is it as hard as the teas v? Any tips on how to prepare besides the packet that was given? Thanks! In advance :)[/quote']

The teas is way harder I got 70 on teas and I got 90 s on ktp so that tells you there.. Just use the packet that they give you to study off and make sure to know everything in it.. I didn't really study the reading portion just focused on the math. Good luck you'll do fine!!! Especially If you have prepared for the teas before

I'm not exactly sure about the scheduling, but I do know you have to be available m-f 7am to 7pm, but we won't be in class the whole time it will vary each semester. Also another nursing student told me each semester lasts 4 months and then classes change. I guess we'll find out the details on Thursday I'm so excited to start as well :) see you there!

First of all, congratulations!!

Did you take your VN at the San Diego campus?

Are you transferring any classes in beside your LVN classes? Which should include Fundies, OB, PEDs and Pharmacology.

I'll try to answer what I can. The schedule probably changes with each new term, so I can only speak in general.

First semester for LVN students included academic strategies, role transitions and any general ed classes that were not transferred.

When I was in my first term, the strategies class lasted for 4 weeks held Friday morning, then we went straight to Role transitions, also held on Friday mornings. A and P 1 with lab and other GE classes are held during the rest of the week.

Many LVNs took A and P 1 with lab on M/W. class in the morning with lab after lunch.

The GE classes are all different and depend on which semester the GE's are placed.

Feel free to ask away, if you have more questions.

Good luck with your program.

I am also intersted in the San Diego Kaplan LVN-RN program. How long does it take you to finish the program? And does that give you an associates when you finish if you ever want to go on to get your BSN? I am an LVN and am really wanting to start getting towards my RN but am trying to figure out the best route to start. Any input would be helpful.

Yes I transferred in pretty much all of my GE's have to retake AP 1 and never took algebra.. So I will be taking that term 1 with nurs 100 and280..

My grad date is may 2015

I plan to go on for my BSN..
