Well, here I go. Tommorow morning, at 6AM sharp I meet my carpool buddy for our first day of LPN to ASN Nursing Transition class, lecture in AM, and lab in PM.

I don't know why, but I have the butterflies! I have been in advanced physiology since the beginning of the semester, but this first official clinical program class gives me the jitters. Perhaps its because I know the next 2 semesters will be my focus in life for a while. I feel guilty taking the time away from family and work again. Rationally, I know these 2 semesters will fly by and we as a family will benefit in a major way from my ladder climbing, but somehow the thought of doing this all again *sigh*.

It's a mixed bag of feelings right now, jitters, trepidation, excitement and others. I guess there is just a lot of change in my life right now. Clinicals starting, which made me transfer to a new position at work so I can accomodate my school schedule, so I have new things to learn at work as well!

Thanks for reading my ramblings, I know it will all be behind me soon, but right now I feel like a kid on Christmas eve, not able to slow down and sleep just yet.

Yeah, another year of exhaustion and single-mindedness ahead of you, but think. And immediate $10 an hour raise and a wealth of new positions and opportunities will be open to you.

You'll do fine.

:)

Lori,

I too started the lvn-rn transition last week and my nerves were wrecked! They still are. Hang in there! It will be so worth it!
