How is your bridge program?

Nursing Students LPN-RN

I started my LPN_RN(ADN) Bride program March 26. The first semster is online and very disorganized. Some of my classmates are not doing well on tests. Think 40 questions 40 minutes. Material is taken from 3 different books sometimes. Also the tests are not always put up on time. Basically all self teaching because we are LPNs. I am hoping future classes will be better when we are sitting in front of a teacher.

Im in a LPN to RN bridge program. We started in January of this year and will graduate in December of this year. Our first semester was like med/surg with a little bit of fundi's at the beginning of the semester. We started with 30 and lost 5 the 1st semester. During the summer we had to take OB (5 weeks), PEDS(5 weeks) and PSYCH(8 weeks). We lost another 3 in OB. So a total of 8 since the start which I dont think is bad. We start our last semester Aug 21. Only 4 months left that God!!! This has been a very tough road.

Oh wow@ Keepmovinglpn, that is awesome :)! I still have 2 semesters to go. We didn't start until late March-April. We had a mixed class of 15 online and 15 in class. We only met the in-class students once about a month ago. I believe all 15 online passed to the next semester we really stuck together to keep everyone afloat. We will all have class together plus the traditional RN students in their second year in 2 weeks. Please keep in touch I would love to hear about the NCLEX from you and how everything is going :)

I will! We merged with 10-15 traditional track students during the summer. So I think our graduating class is like around 40 students. Im getting excited but nervous ya know?

Oh yes I remember that feeling! I think lately its been more of a feeling of being ****** off at our teacher for not having things together. But I will make it through regardless of how disorganized they may be. Hey I am going to PM I want to know the name of your school. I don't want my sister attending the school I am attending and it may be closer for her. I will have to drive about 1.5 hours every Monday :(.

Downhill slide for us.. Woohoo :)! May 2013 here we come!!

Hey there - in the same boat as you guys! One more final to go and a nice long rest until next semester starts!

Was your program everything you thought it would be? I guess it is for me but I'm really looking forward to next semester for the critical care aspect....

I'm exhausted ... It's so stressful!! lol

No its not.. I dont feel that I am learning anything that I dont already know.. also this semester was way beyond difficult for no reason. I am looking for to next semester because of the preceptorships :)

Pretty I feel the same!! Nothing new here either. It's completely a review of systems for us. Although we were exposed to chemo drugs that in ever had before. I honestly think this semester is a condensed review from my LPN program. We are considered 3rd term of ADN.

Next semester, final semester :), is emergency response, burn, community and so forth... All new material that I'm interested in learning. I hope I will learn as, like you, don't feel I've grown.

r u guys all in community colleges lvn to rn program? anyone in lvn to rn program in orange county?

I just finished my finals on Friday and got one more semester to go. So far I'm not too impressed with my LPN-RN program at OU. During this last semester they told us we weren't doing any preceptorships for our final semester because they couldn't find enough preceptors. Instead were doing regular clinicals with fewer students per clinical instructor. I was looking forward to preceptorship because it gives me real world experience. Also the switch from quarters to semesters has caused many problems including disorganization, broken promises, and last minute changes.
