HighSchool to Tech School to University to CRNA

I just graduated from Highschool and Ill be attending Chatt Tech in Georgia at the end of September. My plans are to do my prereqs at this school and transfer to a University to earn my BSA, then to a Medical school after a year or so of being an RN to become a CRNA. Is that a good Idea, or should I take another path thats easier or smarter? I also want to volunteer at a childrens hospital.

Well, I think you may be a little confused about your schools. Getting your BSN at a college is great! But med school is for doctors, not CRNA. A CRNA is not a doctor, its a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Usually you go through a specialized masters program for that. Honestly, if CRNA is your ultimate goal, I'd go straight for your bachelors in nursing, then pursue the CRNA after that.

You will need a couple of years of RN work experience on a critical care unit/ICU before any reputable CRNA program would grant you admission. Here's the career ladder for becoming a CRNA:

1. BSN degree (bachelor of science in nursing)
2. Work in a hospital ICU for a couple of years
3. Complete a master's degree program (CRNA)
