I will not have this class so I am not sure what it is. We have a transitions class but I am not sure if that is the same. I do not know the classes for the 2 year program though.

I just relocated from Tampa to Cincinnati. Im in the end of my first quarter of the LPN to RN bridge online program. I think I am relocating back to Tampa and will be transferring to the Galen in St. Pete... I need to know how often you are on campus during quarter 4,5&6 & how many clinical days there are per week. Also wht clinical sites do they use? Thank you

@raneedayz I am finishing my 4th quarter of the online bridge program right now. I did not have microbiology so my time spent on campus was less that that of others. I believe they were in lab every week for one night from 5pm until around 8pm. For my two nursing classes we were in lab one evening every other week from 5pm-9pm (sometimes released earlier). Then all exams for both classes were done on campus so that required being there at 5pm on those days. Luckily the one class would have their exams during lab time so it helped not having to come back an additional day.

Usually this averaged with me being on campus for about 2 evenings every other week. We had 7 clinical days this quarter (4 for one class and 3 for the other). All of my clinicals had to be on weekends due to my work schedule. For L&D we did simulation lab and for psych we went to a local psychiatric hospital called Windmoor. Quarter 5 I go to Manatee Memorial. There were only two options for weekend clinicals - Manatee and Bartow Memorial Hospital. There are a lot of options if you can go on a week day - Largo Medical Center, St Anthony's, Northside Hospital, St Pete General, Morton Plant ... just to name a few (also some in Tampa but I do not know their names). Same goes for quarter 6 but we will try to get preceptorships so I will probably gear mine towards what work I want to do when I graduate. They try to work with you to get you somewhere that you can network.

So just an update in case anyone does ever get to this post in the future. I met with financial aid. My total loans for tuition purposes will be about $7000 and that is it. My grant will cover the rest. Far less than what I assumed I'd be taking out in loans. I will probably take out more in loans due to purchasing uniforms and books and to cushion living expenses. It will still be less than what I first thought. Like I said before this is with most of my general classes already finished. I will be taking psych, sociology and microbiology...the rest are nursing classes.

My first classes start tomorrow. I gained access to Angel today so I can see my courses and all information pertaining to them. I will be able to start working on assignments this evening after work.

I did have a glitch with my Galen portal and Angel. Since I applied to Galen before and turned down my spot I guess they gave me access then so it didn't show that they needed to give me this information this time around. I had to talk to a few people to get my portal access and then access to Angel.

I have both now and I still have one concern...there are 3 prior semesters showing in my Angel making it look like I did those classes. I have emailed a couple different staff from Galen to ask about this because it looks like those semesters are from another student. This current semester is all good to go though but I don't want it showing as my work for the other stuff.

Was that $7000 in loans for the whole program? Or per semester. Also if I may ask which classes did you transfer in?

Im starting a lpn in January and looking at my bridge options and Galen is definitely one of them.

The whole program. My tuition was about $14,000. I received almost $7000 in grant money and the other $7000 was loans. I transferred in my literature, A&P I&II...I think that was it. I do not have everything in front of me. My psych needed to be a different one so I took that again, took sociology and micro all at Galen along with my nursing classes. Tuition just went up this quarter but I do not know what the amount is. In my opinion the speed of the program far outweighs the cost in my book. I would still be waiting to apply again to my local college ADN bridge. Instead I started at Galen and I am 2 quarters away from graduating. That is my path though - to each his own. :-)

No problem! Just let me know if you have any questions. I remember searching around these forums before making my decision. It is good to hear from others who are going through the process.

I just finished my first quarter of the LPN to RN online bridge. I am at the Cincinnati campus, I just moved here from Tampa. I want to relocate back to Tampa for quarter 4. I have emailed Ashley, and I have seen another post where you wrote that you were in Quarter 4 and were only on campus a couple times a month and 1 clinical a week. What is your schedule like for quarter 5? Thanks so much!

My friend is in the Rn-BSN program at SPC and she said it was fairly easy to get into. Only need a 2.0 GPA, and she said she is doing a lot of papers but it is manageable.

That's so funny I wonder if you were in my frient Natacha's Clinical group at Windmoor? I just saw this BTW, thanks for responding. I am familiar with Windmoor, I worked at another Psych facility and have friends that work there. We take Micro in Quarter 3 up here so If i decide to transfer back in Quarter 4 I will have no gen ed classes left. I also have transfer classes. I know the program consists of a lot of work, but I know it is doable. How much harder is quarter 4 than say the first quarter? Thanks!

I'm starting my Quarter 2 on Jan 6. We are on campus one night a week for 2.5 hours, and we were last quarter too. My friend told me for our Quarter 3 ( at the Cinci campus) we have the one clinical a month as wel,l along with Saturday lab days. I lived in Tampa for 8 years before I came here 5 months ago. Thanks!

Raneedayz I just seen your posts. I was enjoying my holiday break! Yay but it wasn't long enough. We are back at it monday as well. The first quarter in my opinion is the easiest one. The 2nd and 3rd to me were hardest just because it was a lot of work. Q4 was rough on those who had micro along with the two nursing classes (again it was a lot of work). The nursing classes were only discussion posts, exams, HESI, and clinicals along with a few clinical paperwork assignments. That made it nice because there wasn't a lot of busy work but we did need to study. I also had great instructors who gave us good exam study outlines. This helped tremendously.
