  1. I will be attending Concorde career institute (a private institution) September 24 and lasts for 15 months . Orientation is sept 21 I'm excited I just wish i knew what kind of supplies I need since this wknd is tax free wknd. I think I will just take a guess and get things I had while doing my lpn program. Good luck to both of you!! I dont see any problem going to a private school to attain ur goals as long as the program is legit and you can sit for your boards
  2. I went to Fortis in Centerville for my LPN and it was a disaster. Completely unorganized. I have several friends who decided to go into the RN and they said it is worse than the LPN program was. I was thinking about going back there for my RN but quickly changed my mind. I am attending a different school and tried to get my transcripts sent over and have called them 3 times and left messages all 3 times and still have not gotten a response. That is unacceptable to me. I hope your school is more organized and cares about their students more than mine did. Good luck
  3. hello all
We had orientation today. I was impressed. I am now sure this I the program for me. The instructors and Dean have a plan for getting us to the finish line. more to follow

Plz do tell what is the plan and what were the highlights of the program?
  5. Well there was so much to take in. The Dean of nursing taught in one of the major nursing programs here. ALL the instructors that teach our program have great nursing backgrounds. One was with Vanderbilt before she came to this program. There were 21 LPN that started today. The stressed that if we are on board 21 will graduate. The students in cohort 1 were very open about how they feel about this program. They also have great clinical sites here in Nashville that are major Hospitals and not just LTC. They talked about our fears of this not being an accredited program. They are already working on the paper work to submit for acccreditdation which should be submitted in September. Homework started today. All of our schedules were ready when we got there. I also asked about some of the things I read here. They seem really organized and ready to put in the work.
  6. I hope all goes well with this program...like I said before I don't think it's a big deal going to a private institution. As long as u can sit for ur boards and become employed afterward..good luck and God bless!!! Plz keep us posted!
  7. How was the first day?
  8. It was a Long day. We had four classes Nutrition, English Comp, A&P, and Foundations. Classes started at 830 and went until 530. We took a dosage calculation test today that most ofus bombed but it was just an assesment. We found out that we have three times to past the calculations test with 100% in order to pass meds at clinicals. We have out of class work in three subject tonight.Tomorrow we have labs, english again and psych. I am so tired.
  9. Hang in there girl 15 more months Til ur done!!! I got fitted with my uniforms today and I felt official! I will post here to tell about my orientation and first day!! Be a good nurse and do ur homework lol goodnite
  10. hey y'all, just got back from admissions consult at Chamberlain today. I really do not want to take out a federal direct/stafford loan and they make you carry health insurance. money money money that i do NOT have So next friday i'm going to talk to Fortis Columbus. Any new information about how y'all are enjoying the program or the organization there in? I looked at the OH board of nursing and it has FULL accreditation status. So that's at least good. i just hope i can afford fortis even!
I'm hoping that my pell grant will cover the cost and if i have to take a federal loan it won't be too big. Chamberlain i'd have to take like 4 grand out and then try to afford health insurance every month ugh!

    anyway any input is appreciated.
