Hello all,

I've been an LPN for 10 years and decided to go for my RN. I started in the ARMY as a 91c, I served for 12 years. I have an appointment on Friday with The College Network, has anyone talked with this college before.

I'm planning to take their online course, since I work full time. I have a BS already so they said it should not take me too long, about 9 months they claimed. Has any of you ever taken an online course such as this one? I'm just looking for some advice on this online deal.

Thank you in advance

hello,

I do not know of any online LVN to RN program except Indiana State University and it is about 3-4 years depending on what you have completed as far as pre-classes. College network is just a publishing company and does not offer credit for any classes. They just provide the books for the colleges. I am going to strongly advise you to go to the distance learning forum and read all the thread about CN and these publishing companies BEFORE you sign. They are probably talking about Excelsior it is a Distance learning LVN to RN program but it is not online it is self paced. You do not need to sign with a publishing company to complete these courses and get your degree. You can get your books from e-bay or some of the yahoo groups. This will save you thousands of dollars.... There is ton of information on here that can help you and plenty of people that are more than willing to share their experiences with you... good luck to you!!! Another thought there are some accelerated BSN courses that you may could look into , since you already have a BS.

It talks about it pretty in depth.

Good Luck!

Thank you guys so much for your responses. I actually had an appointment with a rep from the CN. I thought the same thing as many of you, the middle man has to go. I'm contacting EC directly as CN would do for me if I pay them $5000.

I read a couple of threads from texas Ivn and was convinced that CN or any other publishing company is not the way to go about getting your RN.

Thank you guys
