College Network

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

I have an appointment with College Network Rep. this week. I was wondering if anybody has graduated from the program. I am an LPN trying to get my RN. If anybody has any information I would greatly appreciate it.

I just signed up with TCN as well, I am worried now that I can't do it. For me it is all about the confidence and the desire to get that RN done. I am sick of being an LPN and I want to move on.

I am looking for some positive encouragement as well. I want to know that someone was successful in completing the TCN- The College Network courses. I have 7 modules to do for nursing, but I also have to do micro. I thought it sounded great because it is near impossible to get through the programs here in my state due to the demands and competition. Does anyone have any positive encouragement?! I already signed up and have a loan for $3500, so I might as well suck it up and do it...

I am currently looking at two modules from CN, I signed up before reading this info- (big bummer)... now I am totally committed financially. It costs $210 each time you go take one of your module tests. BTW, a module is a book which has all the info in it for you to go through, then you go test out at a testing center. I am having a hard time retaining the entire book, which is required to take the exam. It is very difficult.

Wishing you luck, choose wisely.

What program are you doing ISU or EC? If your doing ISU the test fees range from 65 to 210 depending on if its clep, dantes or EC.

The LPN to RN program through excelsior. Just the 2 yr associates program.

Oh ok so then yeah the test are more expensive with EC. I read in other threads that for a few of the non science and non nursing courses that you can clep think one is growth and development. A few other EC students have done it but not really sure who.

Well Nursynursemn, U have come to the rt. site for encouragement. I just want u to know that I too, signed up w TCN before I knew that we don't need them to complete EC. May I just say, that although we could have gotten these modules cheaper, they are still excellent sources of info. I have taken 5 exams, only failed 1, and must say that I am pleased w/the info in these modules. You can do this. I know it seems out of reach rt now, but I said the same thing 8months ago. I took my first exam in Jan. and enrolled end of Feb. and getting ready to take my last exam, and then my re-take, and i will be cpne eligible. I hope if u decide to cont. w/this journey, u will allow everyone here to help u. This is a very supportive site, and we will always support u. I wish u much success.

Welcome,

Nursynursemn, I have a friend who finished the program and has her RN now this was last Dec. I brought some of Lisa Arends study guides. I am using them to help me study to clep A&P. It is really good and easy to understand. I'm tired of being an LPN too but I did not give up when CN was not for me. You have to keep going. I still have to make monthly payments on those books. But I went back to the community college for FREE:yeah:
