Hi! I have a few questions for any LPN student in the 2011 GPC RN Bridge Program. What was your GPA, teas? Did you have to interview? What do they really look for? I have a 3.75 biology gpa, 3.2 overall gpa, and 82% on teas. Is that good enough? Any information will be helpful! I'm having anxiety about if I have good enough grades to get in for 2012. Please help!:crying2:

I would like to know all of these things to..Hmmm...my GPC is showing a 3.70 but I dont think that is correst bc I have classes that I transfered in.

A+P I "B"

Micro "B"

History "A"

Govent "B"

Phed "A"

English "A"

Psy "S" (clepped)

So really I think my GPA is around 3.52 or lower.

Taking Public Speaking and Film now (summer term).

Caleb's mom are you taking any classes this summer? I have been reading alot of things on here from student with great GPA's and good Teas scores that didnt get in and it makes me feel very doubtful that I will get in.

What's your take on things?

Don't get discouraged about what others are saying! Use their opinions and facts as only references/research. I had some classes transferred in as well. I transferred A&P I/II-"A", Micro "A", College Algebra "B". Transfer classes do affect your GPA a little differently, not sure exactly how they figure it up though. I had mostly A's, 1 C and two B's for all the other pre req's and my overall GPA is 3.2. They take your biology/chemistry courses and do a seperate GPA. Mine is 3.57. My teas score was 82%. Ms. Moore said that the bridge program looks at the biology gpa more than the overall along with your teas score. I work with a lpn that is currently in the gpc bridge program this year. Her teas score was 77%, GPA 2.7, Biology GPA 3.1. She said they do an interview after they have the candidates selected and base your admission on the interview. She said that they want you basically to tell them that you are going to live/breathe/eat/sleep gpc bridge program and have no work/family/friend time. That's what they want to hear, not in reality what will happen. So, don't stress it. Just do your best on the Teas and keep moving. I'm sure you will be fine. Keep me posted on your status.

Caleb's Mom thank you much for the words of encouragement and some inside info as to what they are looking for. I take my TEAS on the 23rd. I will post to let you know what I get on it. I wish you all the best and talk to you soon!

Hi Travelinurse! Nice to meet you! Wow three Caleb's mom's, that funny:lol2:

I know, I'm still waiting too! I hope we find out something by the end of the month. How do you think your interview went? I couldnt tell either way when I interivewed.

I hope we do get to meet soon in the program!

I wish you the best!

Please stay in contact!

I hope we find out this month too! I think that they already have an idea of who they are selecting since all of the interviews should be done by now. My interview was ok...they didn't smile much and it was over in about ten minutes or maybe less. That kinda freaked me out a little bit, but they asked everything that they wanted to ask and I think that I did well. I'm happy to find you guys on here and I'll definitely keep in touch!

My interview pretty much went the same way to :-) I think I may start checking my mailbox every day now since the interviews are done. I pray I get in but my teas score has me really doubtful that I will get in.

Hey guys has anyone heard anything yet?

I haven't heard anything yet either! I was hoping that they would make a decision before Sept 30th. My interview was about the same as everyone else's. Keepmovinlpn, my TEAS score was proficient also, but hopefully that won't be the deciding factor for the selection. Good luck to all!!!

Hey, everyone. LPN bridge student here. I got in last year purely by the grace of God. I say this because although I don't even know what my core or science GPA was (I had a WHOLE bunch of classes and I just transferred to GPC), I'm sure my GPA wasn't much to call home about. My TEAS score was 75.3. Like I said, purely by the God's grace! But I believe they took a lot of things into consideration besides grades: recommendation letter from employer, interview, your flexibility with work/family (HINT: This is HUGE! They need to feel that you will dedicate enough time to the program, and are flexible in your schedule even though they know you'll probably be working!).

Like you guys, I spent the entire month of October 2010 stalking the USPS truck, only to get my letter on the 31st! :) better late than never I guess! So...what questions do you guys have?
