Zuca bag experience?

Hey everyone. I've seen a few posts with people who are buying or have bought the zuca bag before school. But no one has actually said how they like them and if they hold all of their books. So, does anyone here have the zuca bag? Can you tell me how you like it? I think I would use it for other stuff even when I'm not in school. Our supply list said we need a very large book bag or a rolling suitcase so that's what sold me on the zuca. And with that statement I'm pretty sure that a rolling backpack won't be big enough. My classes are going to be M-F 8-3:30. So I'm assuming I will be toting a lot of books with me.

I am one who bought myself a Zuca for school starting this coming fall. Although I haven't used it for nursing books, I am currently using it for prereqs and it has been awesome. My previous rolling bookbag just started bending and dragging on the pavement after only using it a few months because my books were so heavy. This Zuca feels sooo sturdy, I know it will last for years to come.

So far it has held all of my books, lab books, study guides, my lap top, flash card sets, etc with room to spare. There are a couple of pockets on it which has been really useful for my water bottle, earphones, charging cords, pens, pencils, etc. It seems I have found a spot for everything. I dont bring it to class with me everyday, but on days where I plan on studying at the library I bring it with me. It is very roomy, but still pretty compact looking.

I feel that in nursing school I will be able to fit quite a bit into there including any supplies I would need for days in the lab. I will say though that I am the type of person who likes to bring alot with me, all my books, laptop, etc, justi n case I find extra time to study. Some might find the zuca unnecessary if they prefer to carry only what is needed for the one class at a time. I love mine though and I am super glad I bought it. I can't wait to fill it up with nursing books!

Thanks for the input. I was wondering the same thing about using it every day. I have already been searching zappos.com for a backpack for the lighter days. I LOVE buying purses and bags so I have no problems with a variety to choose from just have a problem with the funds to purchase them with :-) I just didn't know if it was way too big and over the top or if it is useful. And I'm not against spending a little more when it is a high quality product that will outlast the cheapos. Thanks for the input tag2007 and good luck with school this fall!!

I definately don't think this bag is too big or over the top so I wouldn't worry about that. It actually looks quite compact in person. Also, I've seen some students in the nursing program with their large rolling briefcases and mine looks similar in size, just more sporty and sturdy.

As for using it everyday, if I was going to be on campus for several hours everyday I probably would end up bringing it with me everyday. On my short days I just bring a tote bag with my notebook and some pens. During nursing school I will have a much crazier schedule and will probably have longer days on campus in which case I will be bring more with me. Oh, and I love buying bags too so I know how you feel! lol... I am now on a hunt for the perfect bag for clinical days. hahaha... I wish buying stuff for nursing school wasn't this fun. :o lol

Good luck with whatever you decide and keep us posted on what you find! Also, ebags is a good place to look for bags too. They usually have some deal going on too.

I'm really debating if I want a Zuca bag. I start nursing school in August, and the little backpack I have now barely held all my books last semester so I know it won't hold them this coming semester. I hate spending that much money although I know it would be worth it. Also it looks like a monster!!! I'm worried about how big it really is, I saw the dimensions but it still sounds really big! Will it be practical to use everyday? I am one of those people who likes to carry everything with me just incase, so it would probably be a good fit even if it is a monster.

Now just to convince my mom to help me buy it....

Hi Heather, I just sent you a pm with more info, but i wanted to add that it is only practical to use everyday if you carry alot with you everyday. If you do, then i would highly recommened it. Some days i carry a lot of stuff with me and the Zuca is fabulous on those days. Other days, i just need my notebook and a pen for taking notes during lecture. On those days, i just grab a totebag to run out the door. When nursing school starts, however, i will be on campus longer hours and will probably be mostly using the zuca because i will be studying and reading before classes everyday. In that case i will need to be carrying all of my books with me and the zuca is perfect for that. It really just depends on how much you have to carry. If you carry alot of books, I wouldn't worry about it being too big. Just look at the dimensions and compare it to other rolling bookbags. The dimensions are actually often similar to other bags, i just like the features of the zuca.

woops, double post

Is there anyone who uses the Zuca and can give more insight on this bag that are actually in the program? Or recommend another bag that they use?

(Bump)
