VEEB LPN Program (info request)

Hi All

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?
What are the required books?
Is the program as intense as they say?
Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?
Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?
Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

I have VEEB students that come to my hospital for clinicals, and had one instructor that left VEEB to become a clinical instructor at my college...she was a tough one!

The only disadvantage of attending a vocational school verses a community college is that if you decided to get your RN, you would have to retake anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, english...etc and on a college level. But, I do think that most vocational schools give you just what you need.

From what I have seen, their students have to wear white uniform dresses with blue stripes going down on each side, they told me that it is hard (then again, any nursing program is demanding). According to their old professor, it IS as demanding as they promise to be. But, sacrifice, time managment and dedication should be on your side if you wish to do this. I am not sure if they have job placement, but, I don't think it would really be necessary, to tell you the truth, because most new grads here in New York have been able to get jobs quickly. I don't see the books that they use, because in clinicals, most people only bring a notepad and a drug book. Also, not sure if they have an articulation program to the RN. Good luck to you!

Thanks Pagandeva2000, I too greatly appreciate the info.

***Good luck PinkDove w/ class. Orientation is scheduled for July 16th, until then, will have to get the syllabus/modules for further info. I was trying to get an early start, however, no success. I even email the Director, but she was not having it. How do I know??? Well, she didn't reply to my email. LOL! It was worth a try!

Oh yeah, I forgot their going to give us an assignment before classes start. They'll inform you during orientation, but so far... I heard all good thing about Veeb....so I don't think we should have any problems interms of educations. Although, I hear alot of rumors about not hiring LPN, prefer Rn's, alot of lpn's online and around me are getting employment w/ lucrative pay for entrylevel.

Will see....

I'm coming from Queens. I actually live on the Queens/LI border, so by car it only takes me about 15-20 mins (no traffic).

Have you received a date to go in for your physical?? I'm going on June 9th.

I am border line Queesn/Long Island ...Elmont. I'll be taking public transportation, but I'll have to invest in a car quickly; I don't know how far will be my clinical location. My friend and I are trying our best to get info's , but this school is tight nitch regarding the programs shedule and courses.

*** My physical is scheduled for June 9th. I was anticipating Financial Aid...however, I only qualify for loans according to Financial Aid office.

I wish you all the best.

The financial aid office person at Veeb told me the highest loan amount is $7,500. Is this true. I need a loan quick. Any ideas?
