What were your grades? I was recommended that I have ALL A's. I have 2 B's out of 8 classes one in math and one in an English class higher than the one I need. The only reason I got a B in math is b/c we weren't allowed to use calculators at all. To take the math class it would be $265 out of pocket plus the book. Is it neccessary? Gosh I loathe competition I just want to be a nurse already! I mean math is my worst subject what if I take it and get a C?

I guess it depends on the school you are going to attend. I have been out of school for 25 years, and they did not ask for my grades. Since I did not have a degree I had to take the TABE test before I could sit for the NET. For the TABE I needed to score a 12 in all four areas...basicly an A.

I don't know what your education level is, if you have a degree you do not have to take the TABE, but there is still math on the NET.

I attended a private 12-month LPN/LVN program at a trade school that did not require prerequisite classes or pay any attention to previous coursework. The only thing I had to do was pass the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) test. As long as prospective students had the tuition money or their financial aid in order, they were admitted.

They made me take not only the TABE but the NET and write an essay, then an interview. In the end I do believe it came down to the TABE score and the Tuition money..:D

For my program we needed to have a 2.5 GPA overall. Once you had that the class was selected by lottery. I suggest that you try to have the best possible grades and GPA when applying to the program as they might look at that to decide who they will admit, but it does depend on how the school does their selection process.

Best of luck to you!

The firct thing I had to do was take compass tests to see if I even qualified for the program.

I was then allowed to test out of all the classes but the required science class. You may want to inquire to see if your school offers anything like that. It was $15 per class/test which was much cheaper than taking all of those classes. I only had to take them once but, I know at our school if you didn't get a high enough score you had the option of coming back in 2 weeks to take the test again for an addtional $15.

I'd start asking some more specific questions...that's how I found out what I did. The information wasn't volunteered to me.

At the college i will be attending, we have to make a 75 or higher. Man, you have to make all A's? Thats a bummer.
