I am not sure about your school, but most of the people in my class feel the school/teahers wants you to fail.

We started with 38 students March 10th and now it is September 23rd and we are down to 19 students.

I am also an A student and 90% of the time I feel like I would never fail out, till the teachers come in and say things like I hope you all have a plan B, My 5th grader is smarter then you guys, ect.

I just think they are giving us "tough Love" I could live with out it and also they want you to know how serouis Nursing is they do not want any one to hurt a patient.

Hang in there, You are smart enoughand tough enough

I'm in the last 10 weeks of my LPN program. The fear hasn't left me yet and that with a 3.8 gpa... I'm always afraid I'll have that one class that puts me under the requrement and out I'll be.

What helps me get thru the process is looking at how far I've come... Look at how far you have come from just a few week ago. You are learning new tools, new skills. Your going to make it just remember to stay focused and to not cram. Read ahead or at the very least stay up to date on your reading.

I had a clinical instructor who really made me think with this statement. "nursing school isn't hard... its just time concuming... those who make it are the ones who put for the time and effort"

Good luck... your going to do great:up:

You Are Too Smart To Be Thinking Like That. You Are Doing Great And You Know Your Stuff, Just Keep Studying As You've Been Doing And You Will Definately Pass The Program And Not Flunk Out. Think Positive Always And Stay Away From The Negetivity.

Just keep telling yourself that you're studying too hard, and too busy earning good grades to have time to worry about failing.

Unless you REALLY try hard, you're not going to fail if you want to get through school. The two mentalities are too far apart to be doing both at the same time. As trite as it sounds, this is the truth :loveya:

I felt that way very often. How I dealt with it is to make sure that I studied, never looked at the grades as long as I had a decent feeling that I passed and tuned out the mess. I would see some of the other students failing miserably and it would scare me because I felt it could have easily been me...I was just fortunate enough at that time to either have known the answers or was able to rule out what wasn't. In fact, I used to feel guilty that I was doing so well while many others at that time were not.

Regardless of the reasons, continue to do what you are doing. Obviously, it is bringing you success right now, and when you think about it, it's better to get the higher grades, because if you do flunk out or fall just below on an exam, the other grades will even it out so that you'll still pass. Congrats on doing so well thus far!

Just keep in mind that you may fail some of the exams, but applying what you've learned into the clinical setting weighs heavily. For the NCLEX, yes you should know your book work, but for the field it's applying what you've learned in clinical is what's going to count the most. You wont learn everything in school and once you're out in the real world of nursing you will see that. But try not to worry about failing out because if you keep that in mind, then you're going to forget the importance of your theory and clinical rotations, and that might bring your grades and clinical performance down. Good Luck!
