Hi! I have recently applied to a LPN program where I live (I am sooooo excited!) and have read a lot of post on here where people suggest you have your own . If I am accepted I was wondering where I could purchase this and what is the average cost? Any replies are appreciated it! Thanks!

Liability insurance is relatively cheap, however, It's usually not recommended.

If a patient decides to sue, they will go where more money is.. IE Hospital, Doctors, ambulance companies, ect.

Students are pretty low on the list of people they want to sue... Additionally as long as you act prudently and chart correctly, you shouldn't worry about it.

I would contact your school about the student insurance. My school gave us a place to go through and it was super cheap to get it and we HAD to have it to do the program. I already graduated but I think it is pretty smart and in your best interest to get the insurance as a just in case. If you want the name of the place I went through I'll have to go back into my things and look it up, so just PM me if you want the name!

If you have an insurance company that you use for car, homeowners, ect. Ask them if they provide med. . Alot of times, you can get discounts on all your insurance needs if you are able to bundle them together with one company. Be sure to find out ahead what amount of coverage your school requires you carry.

Thanks for the information everyone! I just got my acceptance letter yesterday, and will be getting a packet with all the information for the program in it this week so if I have any more questions after that I will let you know! Thanks again!
