Question about graduate nurse work.

I graduated last week from my LPN program. However, it looks like it is going to be awhile before I am able to take the NCLEX, as the State Boards are still processing applications from May. I was told by an already practicing LPN that in the state of Indiana you can work as a student/graduate nurse in a CNA position for up to 90 days, without having your CNA license. Has anybody done this before, or know of anybody that has?
