. This is week two of pharmacology and it's rough. My instructor wants us to learn a 15 wk course in 4 weeks. We're doing anywhere from 2-9 chapters a night and I've failed two tests. I haven't failed a test since I've been in nursing school and I'm not understanding what she expects from us. I don't know what to do at this point

- Oct 24, '12 by futureLPN13I just finished Pharmacology like 2 wks ago! It was very rough for me as well & we were also doing anywhere from 4-8 chapters per test! Given that we really only have two class days because 3 days out of the week we are at clinicals, so the whole class was so worried because we were basically teaching ourselves! Luckily, our teach would give us a review for the test therefore we knew exactly what to study for the test. As for as knowing side effects & all meds in such a short time I think is impossible! My pharm class was 6 wks!! I would make flash cards a lot & study groups helped a lot! Nurses at the hospital we do our clinicals say they still don't know all the meds & different side effects!!! I think that has def been my hardest subject!!
- Oct 25, '12 by llane631Try using www.studystack.com
There is a section devoted to pharm. If you scroll down there are also games after you pick what stack you want. Good Luck! - Oct 25, '12 by tparker17234Thanks so much for the info! I got my test back from yesterday and got an 84!!!!! There was a lot of dosage calculations up there so that helped out a lot. Three more weeks of pharm to go!
- Feb 21 by msmacaronQuote from tparker17234I've just finished the pharmacology course for my distance LPN program. I want all of my overwhelmed, frustrated and irritated colleagues to hear this tip...focus on the nursing process! Yes, you do need to know some of the drugs, but by far, the majority of my exams focused on the process, not the drug classifications etc. I hope this helps. Good luck to you all.Ok so I had my first official meltdown today
