Ok. Sorry I havent been on this week but I've been ultra busy. This post will be short untill I can make it back to do a really good post! So far we have started Nursing Fundamentals and were learning the basics: bed baths, shampoos, shaving, body mechanics, linnen change. Typically all the CNA coursework. They say after this first semester all of us will qualify to be a CNA. Things have been fun. I was the first person to do my bed bath/linnen change check off yesterday. I passed! We also got checked off on vital signs: temp, blood pressure, pulse, and respirations. Then came the restraints! I passed on all of that too! I was so happy to get it over though and glad I went first. Well I have to go.

The bad thing about LPN school is the amount of material you are forced to absorb in one sitting....I don't know how you 3-11pm people can manage to keep your grades up. I ended up studying 5-6 hrs a night and giving up my job. the first trimester is the worst. It was known as the "weeding out" trimester at our school. Good luck.

Dark light - you should be almost half way through your progam. How you do'n?
Could you work and keep up in school? I'm considering working days and going through a LPN progam at night.

Well so far so good. Ive passed my check offs on ngt, cath, and more. We have dummies to practice and do our check off's on so we don't do it on each other if anyone was wondering. Right now I have made it to phase 5! I am uber excited because we start clinicals in April and it's not to far from now! I'm not able to update as much as I would like due to all this studying but I have joined a study group and it helps! I'm not a study group person so I just asked two other girls to study with me who are quiet like me ( you dont want a loud talkative group or you won't get any studying done...). well ask me questions!!!! I wanna answer you guys!

If all goes well I'll be starting in Sept. Any advice about what I can do in these next few months to get a "leg up" in the fall?
