So I sitting here working on my first care plan, and I am not having any trouble with the actual nursing diagnosis and potential, but the knowledge deficit is what's getting me. I am just not understanding. My intructor said an example would be that a non-amb. pt. is in a wheelchair, but wants to get up and walk. But my pt. is an alzheimers/CVA pt. and is in a Geri-Chair. Her speech is completely gone, but she doesn't seem to fight anything, exept having her vitals taken. She hates that! I am just looking for a better explanation of what I am looking for when it comes to "Knowledge Deficit"

The patient your instructor was talking about would need educated about why she couldn't get up and walk...b/c she is confined to a wheelchair. Hope that this makes sense!
