Job Corps for LPN

  1. So in 2 & a half weeks, I would be head out to Keystone Job Corps for 2 yrs to become an LPN. & l am excited but also pretty nervous because I don't know what to expect. With every big decision I make, I first research what I'm getting myself in to... & all I heard from people to google to YouTube it was almostly all bad things. So what I'm trying to ask is... If anyone went to/through Job Corps for LPN or any type of nursing, please help my nerves? Tell me how your experience was.. The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly?

Congrats on your acceptance. Always remember that no matter which field you go into, it will require hard work, dedication, and it will also be hard and can be stressful

One thing I can tell you now is to take the word "LIFE" and "FUN" out of your vocabulary because you will not have any of them. It is intense, so far my classes (Fundamentals I, Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition, and Professional Awareness) were easy but I can not tell you how the rest of the classes are. You will need to have very good time management, a set schedule for study time, working, if you have a family (husband kid(s), bedtime, etc. Always prepare for everything the night before. If I think of anything else I will come back and let you know.

So now since "Ms. Sandy" came & flooded almost evrythng.. I have to wait until Nov. 6 to come to Keystone Job Corps. What is CPP? & How r the dorms at kjc?

Cpp is career prep phase..its just a 3 weeks class you take when your first get here.. it gets you ready before you start your trade.. but the dorms here at keystone are pretty good. its about 620 students here all together, we have 5 dorms, some are quiet, some are loud, some just for guys and some just for girls so when you get here, you'll kinda figure out what dorm is your "cup of tea", i guess you could say. but i dont know where your from IRA89, but its really cold here,so pack lots of warm stuff and boots.
