I think I made a mistake

Hey all,

I was enrolled in a LPN program that only took 9 months. I was supposed to go to orientation but I started a new job in the PICU and went to work that day instead. I knew that my name would be taken off the list to start in August. I now think I made a mistake. I enrolled in community college to take pre reqs for the RN program but I can't shake feelings that I should have finished my plans for LPN program. Did I make a mistake? :bluecry1:

Well since it is over and done with I really don't see any value in second guessing yourself. Move forward with your plans for your RN and as long as you gave proper notice to the LPN program you have nothing to worry about on the professional end of things. Good luck.

I think you may have made a mistake. I can't say for sure though because only you know how badly you wanted to do the program. All I can say is I wouldn't have done that if I had gone through all of the trouble of testing, registering, etc. Then again, you may have done the best possible thing you could have done....for someone else!! I'm sure there are PLENTY of people who were on the waiting list dying to get in, and will make LPN school their number one priority. Not to say you wouldn't have done well, but everything happens for a reason...they may be a little more serious about it and it may not have been the right fit for you. So in that sense...You just made someone VERY happy!!!!!

Good Luck In Your Future!

You might can call Amy and see if you can start in January....Being that you were already accepted and stuff....There is hope...You will just be going from one January to the next January...That is the only thing that sucks....The summer break is what is going to suck...PM me and let me know what she says when you call....

Thanks for the positive suggestion. I'm going in January. It wasn't that I wasn't serious about going to school. I got scared that I wouldn't get a decient job afterwards and some other stuff. I'm 100% serious about starting a career!:nurse:

I can't imagine not showing up for orientation after all the trouble I have gone through to get into my LPN program. I guess I just want it THAT BAD. I spent the whole morning of orientation convinced that I was going to end up having a car accident or a flat tire and missing orientation and losing my spot.

To be quite honest, and unfortunately perhaps a bit too blunt... I hope that your dedication increases before class because if what I hear is any indication, you are going to need to be able to stay focused regardless of fears or doubts, or else you won't make it.
