Hi everyone! I start school in 3 weeks and i'm so excited! I am however short 1,000$ and i'm rattling my brain trying to figure out where to come up with the funds for school. I have already applied and received FASFA and government loans and applied for many scholarships. Without this 1,000 i will be unable to attend. Can anyone point me in the right direction, i have no idea where to go and also i have extremely poor credit as does my mother. so loans are out of the question. thank you in advanced.

see if they do payments?

Got anything you can sell? Family who will invest in you?

i still owe the school 9,000 they require a deposit for anything over 5k. my deposit is 1,900 and i've saved 900 so far and my monthly payments are 225$ already so payment plan is taken care of and i don't have much family just my mom and siblings who are younger than me and my father passed away.

Are you currently working? Find a job no matter how many it pays you, and you'll have that $1000 in a few weeks.

This is probably the worst advice I ever gave and I'm even debating posting it but I don't know what else you can do.

Do you work? Can you do a payday loan? Ugh those suck but... It will get you what you need and pay it back?

Does the state your in offer a parent plus loan if you under 23 look into that

Can you use a credit card or get one? They can go up or above that amount.

PayDay loans could work, but they are only for $255 and required to be paid back w/i 30 days with high, high interest.

You can also get student loans from your bank? Or a private student loan?

See if you can get one from your bank?

There are also Title loans from cars, but are highly unrecommended bc they can take your care if you fail to pay it back within a certain amount of time.

I'd do payments or credit card or see if the bank can give you a student loan/a private student loan... Any debt is awful, though.

Nobody has mentioned this yet, and I'm sure this isn't the most popular option, but you may need to delay a semester and save up enough money.

Do you have enough for your books, and everything else? I don't know what your situation is, but judging from your post, it sounds like you are in over your head. Having been in a similar situation, I can say it sucks when you are so broke you have to go to your Mom's and hunt for change in the couch so you can buy Ramen and eat that week. (True story. I was financially stupid.)

If you currently have a job, you may be able to pick up up extra hours, so talk to your supervisor. If you don't currently have a job, you may need to get one. When I was in school, I picked up an extra shift, sometimes two, each week during breaks to have enough money to cover my part of tuition and add some veggies to my Ramen.

Whatever your ultimate decision, good luck.

.

Here we can get up to two 600 payday loans, but yes the interest rates are huge. But I was thinking she could get it, then pay it down, like pay the 600 and take out another 550 ect ect ect.. But idk I don't see too many options for her.

OP, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you attending Prism Career Institute, where I think the Tuition for the LPN program is $24,990!! Do you think this is the best option for you, given that there are LPN programs in the NJ/NY/PA/CT Area for less than $5K. If fact, they are a few that are less than $1K! BTW, are you sure you will be able to get a LPN Job once you complete this For-Profit School and hopefully, pass your Boards?

You might be short $1K now, but what about 1, 2, 3 months from now? Are you sure you are not digging a hole for yourself? I truly hope you know what you are getting into and the reputation of Prism Career Institute.
