Help with question- priority

  1. Hello,

I am getting ready to take my boards and what I have heard was that their were tons of patient priority questions. Any memory tricks that might help me? Thanks. Any other suggestions ?

    3 things:

    ABC's
    The Nursing Process
    Maslow's.

You cant fail if you apply these.

I haven't taken my boards yet. But I'm practicing priority questions using:
Maslow (physiological needs first, eg: oxygen, fluid, nutrition, temp,
elimation, shelter, rest, sex) and of course (ABC's)

The Nursing Process: Data collection = assessment
    Always assess first before implementation

Safety: Do no harm (decide what will cause the LEAST amount of
    harm

When answering questions about procedures, always think safety. Safety includes:
    Basic needs: (Oxygen, fluids, food)
Reducing harzards: (accidents, obstacles in the home)
Decreasing the transmission of pathogens: (immunization, santitation)

Most nclex test strategy resoures recommends these steps. The above steps are just my summary from reading Kaplan strategy textbk.
    I hope this helps.
    Good luck!
