I am so stressed right now and I do not know what to do. I am currently on my CC wait list-#85 for the LVN program but I have called around some private schools and I have found the perfect one, it has a full-time and a part-time LVN program and the part-time would be perfect for me, it's friday 2-10 p.m., saturday 7-3 p.m., and sunday 7-3 p.m. and the program starts on Nov. 2. The LVN program costs $19,681 but it includes books, uniforms, tutition, everything. I want this so bad but my husband is not really on board with this and I do not know what to do:o:o I will wait if I have too bt it will be about 1 year to a year and a half before I can start, I know CC will be alot cheaper but I want to start sooner rather then later but I may not have a choice. Anyone else going through this? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks and sorry for the long post I really needed to get this off my chest:uhoh3::uhoh3:

i am sorry about your situation. i thought you said in your previous post that you ar willing to wait?? i know 20k is so much compare to your community college. talk to your husband and analyze how much you will owe and how much you will be potentially earning as an lpn after you graduate with this private school because you could be an lpn already by the time you start the cc program, correct?. plus, if you go now, it would mean becoming an rn even earlier and the potential to make more money eariler. so you do an "analysis" and decide which avenue would suite your needs and your husband's. good luck..

I was faced with much of the same dilemma as you and went to a private college. My rationale was that I would be working as a LVN sooner and make up the tuition in the first six months of work. I also knew that the transition from LVN-RN would be easier for me because there are a lot of options that don't include wait lists and lotteries.

Bottom line is that you need to find what works best for you and your family. If you are trying to convince your husband, I would say that you could talk to him about getting back to work faster and having this pay off sooner than if you wait list on a CC program.

:nurse::nurse::monkeydance::monkeydance:Thank you both for your advice, I will talk to my husband and go from there. If he is still worried about the cost I will wait, maybe by some sort of luck I will be able to start in Fall 2008 instead of Fall 2009.
