I am hoping to start school this August in an LPN program in northern MN....I am very nervous. I kinda just want to know what to expect from you all that have been through it...I want to know everything haha!

You can expect.... to give up sleep, family, friends, and any spare time will be spent studying. But you can also expect to learn a new language, skills, knowledge and develop great friends that are going through exactly what you are. You can expect your family to get sick of hearing about school because that is all you can manage to focus on. Learn to close your eyes when you walk through your house because you will not have time to do all the things that need to be done and still study. Take each day at a time and you will make it. The biggest advice I can give you is to form a study group with a couple of people who have the same goals as you. Teach each other and learn from each other. Sometimes one of you will get something that the others don't understand and you will be able to guide each other in ways that make more sense than what the book or instructor did. If you want it bad enough it will be yours. Also, laugh at yourself, you will make mistakes, you will feel silly sometimes and it is ok. Everyone else does too! Good luck!
