does anyone know of a free lpn course in nyc/bronx?

Actually the City of New York in conjunction with HHC which is Health and Hospitals Corporation have a L.P.N. program, here is the number: 212-442-3768 you just pass the economical requirements but they will explain it to you. They accept 40 people for the L.P.N. and 30 for the 4 year RN program. Upon completion you must work at least 22 months with them. I hope I was able to help you good luck in all your endeavors.

I am in this program, I just started this program myself. I go to the one at Goldwater Hosptial. The books, uniforms, CPR class are all free. The course is very intense. I agree with what others have told you, start studying now! I started the process about this time last year. If they offer you the prep course, take it! It was a huge help. However, it's not toatally free. In order to receive the scholarship you have to sign an agreement with HHC to work for them for 2 years. Still not a bad deal no matter how you look at it.

hello how r u.i just took the tabe test for this program the other day and failed it.i am so upset with myself because i thought the test wasnt that hard.i thought for sure that i passed and when i found out that i didnt i felt stupid.the lady also told me that i could still get in the class for next sept. but i would have 2 now pay to take these tests on my own then contact them.if nogt then i would have 2 try the tabe again next year.i am so stressed about this because these opportunities dont come around everyday.

missmurray...don't give up! i believe that paying for the tabe is well worth the benefit of getting into the program next september. the teachers are the cream of the crop. my class graduated in june and so far we have a 100% pass rate. only a handful of my classmates haven't taken the nclex yet. the ones that passed did so on the 1st try. don't be discouraged!!!! keep your eyes on the prize!!!! :D

thank you so much allicat.i will pay for the cnet.i just printed out the form.hey did they send you to new jersey to take the cnet or did the school give it to you? i have to go to jersey.and are you working yet?if so which hhc facility

it may be hard to find a free lpn program, but if you go through charities, some church or scholarshipo, you can pay your way through,

i already found one kerry

this is for anyone who may still be interested in free lpn programs. i graduated from coler-goldwater's lpn program in june and passed the nclex in sept. (still looking for work though:crying2:) since i have no previous experience in the medical filed i figured since i'm not working i would look into getting for more training that would be relevant to the field of nursing.....phlebotomy, ekg, iv administration. at a job fair i stopped at laguardia community college's booth and they have a workforce for health careers. they offer many different cources including an lpn course.....for free!!!!!

job corps has one as weel you also have to meet some requirement and do the Cna training as well first http://edison.jobcorps.gov/html/home/
