Cost of LPN school these days?

  1. 0 I'm just curious about what the costs for LPN school are now in different areas. I went to school in 1969 and cost of the ENTIRE course was $150 at our vocational school. This included books, two uniforms, two caps (yes, I'm old..but I loved my cap), lunches in the cafeteria during clinicals, and our graduation uniform and pin. I can't even imagine what it is now.

The cost of my school was close to $20,000 and that did not include the NCLEX, no lunches, nothing but the cost of the course, books, and 2 uniforms. :angryfire

I graduated from NETI in December. The cost for me was $14,000. I qualified for a student loan which I will start paying in June. I also had to pay $300. per month toward the amount I couldn't finance. It was a great program, long, hard, but well worth it. My whole graduating class passed the NCLEX-PN. I was hired in January, I love my job. Most of my classmates are working. The school has a great job placement department. The day program that I attended was 15 months long. Good luck to you wherever you end up going!

I live in Western PA and the current cost for tuition only at my school is $8,900. However, we all know that you can add a few thousand dollars to that figure for books, supplies, uniforms, etc.

I'm in SF bay area -- did my research on a couple of LVN schools here.

    Unitech in Hayward -- $28k
Western Career College in San Leandro -- $29k
the cheapest is... NCP -- $20k
however, they don't offer loans or financial aid... You're on your own.

The cost here ranges, at the tech schools it $19,500.00 that includes books and uniforms. At the Hospital Based schools the cost is $6500.00 for tuition. You can easily figure another couple of grand into that for uniforms, books, supplies, etc....

I'm going for the Hospital program, it's better and waayyyy cheaper!

aaargh. 20000 US dollars for one year of school in the US?

Here in the Netherlands I only have to pay about 2500 Euros/3000 US dollars a year for nursing school, and that includes books. Uniforms are provided by the hospital. I guess I have to consider myself lucky.
