The test is a predictor of how well you may do on the NCLEX. It gives you a percentage chance that you will pass the NCLEX the first time. I got an 80.7% individual total score, and was told on my results page that there was a 99% probability that I will pass NCLEX-PN on the first try. I was told by LPN's I work with that did ATI that their tests were actually more difficult than NCLEX. I think ATI's strategy for "helping" people pass is that they get students to work above the expected level. I scored between 78-83% on each of the whole battery of tests they give throughout the year, and I always ranked in the 97% or above national percentile. Don't let a "low" individual total score discourage you. You can't think of it as the percentages being ranked like regular letter grades, A, B, C, etc.
