Is Anyone Else Still Waiting...?

Is anyone else still waiting to see if they will gain acceptance or not into their respective program? I have never really been a patient person but they keep extending the time it will take for prospective students to get their letters. The wait is driving me insane. Somebody give me some tips or something I can do to pass the time. Am I the only one? Is anyone else out there still waiting?

You're doing better than me. I can't even apply until January. This wait is killing me. I've got to take the TEAS between January 12th and March 1st. Then I'll have to wait until the middle of May to know if I have been accepted or not. So I must admit, I am a bit jealous of the fact that you will be hearing soon.

Yikes! January? When would you actually start school? I did everything kind of last minute to avoid a long wait. Didn't work out quite how I had planned though. Looking at your timeframe, another week or 2 doesn't seem so bad. Best of luck on your TEAS and getting in!! Btw, where are you from and what school are you waiting on? I am from AL and I am waiting to hear back from Trenholm Tech.

The wait where I live was ridiculously long so I enrolled in Kaplan and they got me in and I started school within a month. It may cost more but I found it to be extremely worth it. I'm already in my 2nd term and I started school in September. I've heard the LPN programs are getting cut from both Kaplan and the community college where I live after this current term. I suggest working and saving as much money as possible before school (and enjoying life as much as you can too lol)

I'm in Arkansas and will be going to SAU Tech. Classes actually start during June with CPR.

YES! Waiting for a phone call on Dec 13th for the January program! And if I get in, then I have the shots, physical exam, AHA BLS training, fingerprinting, background check, books, uniform... a busy holiday season to get ready.

@ilidawn I just landed a job today so that will take up some of my time. Sounds like you're really rolling with Kaplan. Thankfully there still seems to be a sizeable demand for LPNs where I live. They still even hire them in hospitals. When will you finish?

@student forever

At least you know when you will know. They just told us we will get letters "sometime after December 7th." I can't imagine having to do ALL of that in a few weeks! :eek: I'd be running around like a chicken with the head gone! Best of luck to you though!

I applied to a local technical school in early November for the Fall 2013 class. I had to pass an exam before I was allowed to apply. I had anticipated passing the exam, so I had arranged for my transcripts to arrive the week after I took my exam. I completed the formal nursing application and health questionnaire and have submitted one of two references. I have yet to receive even a letter of acknowledgement of receipt of anything from the school, though. I am trying to get copies of my shot records, but since I live in another state, it is hard to get those records. I am just going to have to get the shots again or get tested for immunity. Anyway, the deadline to submit the paperwork is March 2013. I do not plan to take that long. Does one get the background check, physical exam, etc. after being accepted? I want to have as much as I can submitted as early as possible.

I had to do shots, background checks, and sll BEFORE getting accepted. Which now that I think about it, it's kinda weird.

The college I want to go to doesn't require shots, records, etc until after. I couldn't imagine going through all of that hassle and expense and not being accepted! I would not be a happy person...

I got in to LPN school! I am officially starting in Spring 2013! WOO HOO!! :D

That is odd, unless everyone who applies gets in?? Anyway, I am sure I'll have to get tiders because I have not had shots besides TB in forever.
