No, I do not know how many applied for fall. We asked, but all they said was a bunch. When I go to orientation on the 14th I will see if I can find out. Yes, I only took the Nelson Denny for fall. I was told they would look a my compass, nelson denny, and GPA. Your GPA is higher than mine so I think you will be fine.

Hang in there everything is going to be fine. Are you planning on working full time and doing LVN?

If I do get accepted, which I pray to God I will, I might need to get a part-time job, since classes are during the day, and my job now is during the day it wouldnt work out quite well! With this economy at least a part-time job will help if all possible. Unless classes are really tough then I'll just stick to school. Although I'm not used to that, Ive always done both, but at this point, I just really really want to get accepteD! So Im studying right now!! Hoping that maybe I'll pass that HESI with a good gradE!

And please give me all the info on that meeting! See what they say! I can't thank you enough for your help!!

Hey, hope your having a good weekend. Okay I went to orientation on Friday, and they said 200 applied for 70 spots. They did mention that it is difficult to hold a job during the week. They also said you need to study / read for about 2-3 hours a night. Anyway...I have a lot of books to get ordered so I will talk to ya later.

Oh, I'm so happy for you!! Glad that your already ordering books and getting everything started! So 200 ppl applied! Gosh, thats alot of people. I wonder how it will be for me.
I took the HESI on Friday, I think I did ok, I made a B- like 81% which is not my best but my mind went blank occasionally. I thought I was doing good, but I guess not!! SO we will see how that goes. SOuth goes by a point scale system. I really really want to get accepted!

I figured it would be hard to get a part time job since it is alot of studying! Are you going to get a job or just stick to nursing school for the year! good luck with everything

Congrats on taking the HESI! It sounds like you did well.

I am so stressed over the shots. I went this morning and got my Tetanus, and started my Hepatitis B series of three shots. I still need my Varicella shot, and everyone I have called is out of it.
They are giving us until the second Friday of class to get our shots done. I just want to get them all over with ASAP.

I am not going to be working, but I am married so my husband will be supporting us. We only have one child so we should make it for a year.

I will be praying for your acceptance in the program.

So you need a Varicela shot? Have you tried all the health govt. clinics??? WHere exactly do you stay.. Ive been to a different places, there is a place off of beamer called beamer urgent care but they give shots too, and I know of different doctors in the pasadena area if you'd lk to call and give them a try?

Thats good that your husband is helping you, at the end it will all be worth it

Aww and thanks for your praying. I really really want to get in, I want to apply and get it over with and see what happens! Im just really stressed out!! Write me back if you want the doc's #'s thats if you havent got them already!

I just graduated and all I can say is that you guys should start practicing the hesi pn book now in the beginning of the program because 85% of our class failed hesi the first time...like 8 out of 48passed. We were never prepared on test taking strategies for Hesi and we were told to get our hesi book in the beginning of our last semester, which was only two months because of the summer and tested on the material in the first week of August. Good luck!

I know I'm a little late, but I was reading up on y'alls posts b/c I also applied for the Spring 2010 LVN. I went in yesterday and am taking the Nelson Denny today at 2 p.m. I'm freaking out a little bit. Do you ladies know how long the test takes or how many questions it is?

I also applied to San Jac LVN program for 2010 yr. I have to take the Nelson Denny on Wednesday so nervous. Should I be I heard it's just reading and some vocabulary. Sometimes me and reading sucks.. But can anyone give me any advice to ease my stress. I have already taken the HESI @ Kingwood for Lonestar College program and San Jac says if I get in I have to take it again. Anyone had the same problem?

Fena,

I had 24 hrs to study for it and did great (at least I think so). You get 15 min for the vocabulary section and 20 minutes for the reading. The vocab is really easy and the reading is too. All you have to do for the reading comp is to read the story and answer a few questions on it. Good luck! I'm sure you'll do great.
