first of all, congrats on making it this far in nursing school! way to go!!!

second, take a deep breath and relax. this is the fun part of nursing school, where you take all the text book stuff you have learned and apply it in the clinical setting. it is natural to be scared, but don't let fear paralyze you; instead, use it to sharpen your assessment skills. a little fear is a good thing. the nice thing about my clinicals was i always had some of my friends with me in the same setting, so if i had a question or wasn't sure about something, i would hunt them down and ask them. most of the staff at the hospitals or wherever you do your rotations are usually student friendly, but you will quickly find out who is not. just do whatever paperwork or assignments you have to do the night before. if you have already chosen your patient, then i would suggest you look up as much as you can on his/her dx, medications, what might you expect with his/her plan of care, etc.

lastly, again, just have fun. like i said before, this is the fun part of nursing school, where you get to see how being a nurse is in the clinical setting. you will learn so much, but don't feel like you are overwhelmed. we have all been there and know exactly what you are going through. but you know what? we made it, and so can you. just stick with it, don't give up, don't give in, and you will find that you are a much stronger person than you may have ever realized. good luck!

At this stage the worst you can do is flub up your mitered corners. Your probably not passing meds yet. So enjoy the slower pace and absorb what you can
