Do you have work experience (paid) as a wound care nurse. Most certifications require work experience, coursework,testing and sometimes supervised clinical work. WOCN is restricted to RN-BSN. There is one certification for wound care that LPNs PTs and a few other Professions can attain: WCC (Wound Care Certified)

Jun 2, '12 by ruthalittleNAWC (National Alliance of Wound Care) offers courses for WCC certification. Some employers will pay for the course if you agree to continue to work for them for a specified period of time. I chose to pay for it myself. You do need to have 2 years of wound care experience.
