My last position was in 2011 working in hospice. I was making $21.50/hr in San Diego. I also had a per diem job at a small SNF/rehab facility in Carlsbad getting paid $27.25/hr.

Chicago area:
I am a new grad LPN... the rates that i was offered from places I have looked into are:
$21.50 hr to work in a psych facility in Cicero average patients are 55-75 residents per floor and 1 nurse
$19.00 for pediatric home health. 1 patient at a time, long commutes and not steady hours, no benefits
$24 hr for an Adult day care services for Alzheimer patients. full benefits, and only have to work 9-5 Monday- Friday. paid holidays off, never working weekends and very good personal and sick pay
I took the adult day care job as a Program nurse... they told me it didn't pay well but it was the best offer i had and I have only been a practicing LPN for 3 month. I am satisfied with this wage since it also gives me time to continue my education so i can bridge to my BSN, and it is only a 15 min drive from my house.
i wish i knew what new grads were on average getting paid...
