What is the point of the NCLEX?

I took the NCLEX yesterday and I find it hard to believe that after 2 years of much stress, hard work and great grades (92 average), that it all comes down to this one test. This test that can ask about any drug under the sun. No one can can ever know them all and all the side effects and I am so frustrated right now. I'm pretty sure I did not pass and I am trying to figure out how to study to take it again, but I can't figure out how to do that. I don't even know where to begin, since I already used 4 different NCLEX books and they apparently didn't help in the first place. Is there a book out there for those who failed the NCLEX?

Check out our NCLEX Discussion Forum for more info on the NCLEX. Lots of tips there and advice from many members who have had to repeat the exam.

Keep in mind that the exam is set up where both passers and failers tend to get around 50% right, so no one is expecting you to know everything. (The level of difficulty where you're hitting 50% is what determines pass/fail, not the number you get right.)
