VERY unhappy w/ TCN!

I have learned it the hard way.......... I can't be a self-study, self-paced student. I need someone to lecture me. I need the traditional theory and interact with other students. Too bad I have this damn contract with the College Network. I am currently trying to do the LVN-BSN route w/ ISU after I finish testing out my prereqs w/ TCN.

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to cancel this contract with TCN? I don't want bad credit by not paying off my monthly bill with them =( .... I have a nearly $8,000 loan with them. I really want to go back to traditional schooling. Tough for me!

Unless you cancel your contract within the three days after signing... you are stuck.

U see this is why i did not do TCN. Me and 2 of my friends went speak to one of thier reps. They sign immediately. i could not make my self do it. Now here we are 2 years later and they have only taken 1 test because they can not either motivate them self to read the horrible study guide that i quote they say is "so boring" or they are just to busy to get to it. This would have been me. I need some one to say hey there is a test friday, hey this due wednesday. I wish u the best and hope you find a way to get what you need.

Do you think you could find another student to study with? This may help motivate you and keep you focused.

I have done a lot of online classes at CC and learned how you really do have to stay on a schedule because it is too easy to slack off. I do not think this type of learning is for everyone. But, now that you are in it and have a contract, you need to find a way to make it work for you especially after paying out all that $$$.

I hope it gets better for you

I don't know if this is true, but, I met an LPN studying through Excelsior, and she mentioned that she has tutoring provided for her. She said that she meets with this tutor every week or so, and that keeps her focused. It takes a VERY disciplined person to study independently. I have too many questions in my head for that, but if I had a tutor available, that would make me focus a bit, and I would have a list of questions to pose at each visit. I don't know if your on line program has that availablity (and again, not sure if this is even true with Excelsior), but it is worth a try. Good luck!
