No, you aren't hopeless. It is normal to feel scared, however, this will never get any better unless you actually do enter the "real world" of nursing, as you put it. My advice is to start applying, in person, to places you are interested in working. It will take time to feel comfortable in any nursing position that you accept, but it will validate the hard work you put into school and passing NCLEX. How will you ever know unless you try? I say just go for it! And since it has been awhile since you graduated, you may want to review basic procedures you would likely perform as an LPN and also review some physiology and medications. It's easy to forget things you don't use. Good luck, you'll be fine!

So true about the forgetting school stuff... I wouldn't wait much longer because you will feel more out of the loop. Starting something is the hardest part but when you start its just becomes easier. You will do fine.
U might want to apply at the places you done your clinicals at. You would be familar with the procedures and some staff. Just an idea. And then from there you will rebuild your confidence and try another location to an unfamilar zone. Good luck.
